A 547-key renovation and expansion of the former Dreams Cancun, a property originally designed by Ricardo Legorreta in the early 1970s as the Camino Real.
Playa Hotels & Resorts appointed TLDI in December 2013 under a construction management agent contract covering engineering, permitting, construction and equipment. The resort opened as Hyatt Ziva Cancun in November 2015, under two years later.
Scope of works
- Complete demolition of 9,000 m² of front- and back-of-house, plus all external areas
- Full refurbishment of 42,000 m², finishes and MEP, including 379 existing rooms
- New construction of 35,000 m², including 160 new rooms and new front- and back-of-house facilities
